I’m participating in a monthly photography challenge and each month we’re given a topic or a theme to take photos and upload for critiquing. Last month we had to do in the likeness of a French photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson who did B&W street journalism photography. So here are a couple I did.

Project 52
Through the year I’ve participated in a couple of projects through the Australian Photography Forum at Flickr. One of those was a weekly project of the same subject, to see how it changed through the year. I chose our pergola in our garden. If you would like to see the set of photos then click…
Camera bags that don't look like camera bags
If you’re like me you don’t want to announce to the general public that your camera is always with you. So how do you carry it around safely so it doesn’t get bumped and knocked? I’ve purchased a ladies leather backpack which looks like a regular handbag women would carry. But inside I’ve added the…
Photo site has new look
My photography site, which is separate to this blog, has now got a new look. I encourage you to go visit http://photosbykathie.com/ to have a look around. I have quite a few photos listed at stock photo sites now, which are linked at the photography site. And you can purchase prints and cards via my…
Update on Stock Photography
Well, my submissions have slowed down but the sales are happening. I now have a total of 161 images up for sale at 9 different sites and have sold a total of 34 photos across 6 of those sites. Not big earnings but at least a step in the right direction. And I’m finding that…
Stock Photograpy VII
Just another tip for you. I was checking my stats at the individual sites to see if any more sales were generated and noticed I still had some pending files at some of the stock sites. Even though iSyndica submits to the sites, not all the sites accept the photos straight away. Some of them…
Thanks Dad Photo Competition
The national (Australia) Thanks Dad Photo Competition is on. This is the brainchild of 3 men, Chris Hawke, Michael Hawton and Greg Schlieman who have all been involved in men’s welfare issues and who wanted to bring positive images of Australian fathers to the attention of us all. There is so much ‘bad news’ about…
Submitting to Stock Photo Sites VI
Thought I’d give another update. Well, I’ve got some photos that have now sold several times over. So it’s starting to pick up. Time for me to upload more images and keep building my stock. Interesting though, that I heard from yet another stock agency overnight. I’d loaded images to them weeks ago and had…
Project 52
I’m participating in a couple of photography projects this year. One is Project 52, taking a photo of the same thing each week. It can be at different angles and at different times of the year. I selected the pergola in our park as the subject and have seen the surrounding bushes and wisteria change. …
Celebrate Photography
19th August marks World Photography Day and at the time of writing this post over 1700 photographers have so far registered to participate. Including me! The idea is to photograph your part of the world and share it. Something I do already anyway, hey? 😉 To get involved, register at http://www.worldphotoday.org/ and then tweet it,…
Submitting to Stock Photo Sites V
An update on the progress of my stock photo submissions. I have a total of 93 photos submitted across 7 different sites now. My submissions have slowed down – I need to go through more photos and view them at 100% to make sure they are suitable for submission. I’ve bided my ‘wait’ time for…
Awesome photos
I look at these photos and realise I have a long way to go yet. This was sent to me last week and I loved their simplicity and beauty. Click on the link and be prepared to enjoy the visuals about to open before your eyes. Amazing stuff!
