It was very windy yesterday but fine and we took advantage of it and spent some time in the garden. Hubby found this butterfly in the garden with a damaged wing. We rescued it off the ground and put it in a bush. But not before it spent some time with us – it seemed…

Would you like a strawberry?
This weather is really liked by our strawberry plants which are literally running wild and throwing runners across the garden, mainly under our fig tree. But there are more plants in the vege garden, doing the same thing, out in the open. The result is what you see below. And yes, they smell and taste…
Scotch Thistles
The scotch thistles are out. They are a weed and I need to get rid of them but, as yet, unable to work in the garden. However, they do make for good subject matter when taking photos. And I love their colours when they’re in flower.
Bright Gazanias
I’m now getting back outside into my garden, which is such a blessing. It’s not until you lose the use of something for sometime (in my case a foot and leg) that you don’t realise how much it means to you. So glad to be walking again, even if slowly. Yesterday I enjoyed the afternoon…
Common Brown Butterfly
When we went out on Australia Day to buy new sheep for our property, I had to sit and wait in the car while Graham went to pick out the sheep. Trying to get down a stoney driveway and into an uneven paddock on crutches isn’t my idea of fun – I want to heal,…
Beautiful rose
As I’ve not been out in my garden over the past few weeks I’ve really missed seeing my roses in bloom. I get to see a couple outside my window but that has been it. But last week I was able to be outside for awhile and noticed the beautiful Double Delight in full bloom. …
Australian Magpie
I’m still stuck inside but I do have quite a good view outside my office window and am able to watch the birdlife when it shows up. Not that it always stays still long enough for me to capture it and I have a limited width of viewing for following them with my camera. However,…
Photo a day
Fortunately for me, I take more than one photo a day, any time I’m out with my camera. Which was every day till my accident on 12th December. So I’m going to share with you photos I haven’t published here before and hoping that soon I’ll get creative, even in my limited movement for more…
The bee and thistle
Wandering around our garden during the week I spied a well developed Scotch Thistle. Must get out and do some serious weeding! On closer inspection though I spied this bee who was enjoying the thistle. Think I’ll leave it there a while longer! 🙂 Welcome to all new subscribers this week and thank you for…
Betty Cuthbert Rose
This is one of the new rose bushes in our garden and it has a really pretty flower. Smells lovely too. Same bloom 2 days later.
Tiny moth for a tiny flower
Have you seen those tiny little white daisies that spring up in the lawn and garden at this time of year (Spring)? I love the challenge of photographing them. On this particular day I was given extra value with an equally tiny moth upon the flower.
With spring comes the bugs
We’ve had a lot of flies turning up lately and suspect eggs have hatched somewhere in or close to the house. Very annoying. Outside there’s been an array of colourful bugs arrive in the garden. The top one below is a Hover Fly but I’m yet to find out what the sparkly green bug is.
