Sunbeams and Roses
I love seeing the sun enter my front garden through my office windows in the morning. If first peaks through the liquidamber leaves and then through the picket fence and finally on the roses.
Split Fig
This fig is high up in the tree – not yet ripened but has split open. I was very surprised when I saw it.
An oak from an acorn grows…
No doubt you’ve seen images similar to this one before. They’re popular in stock agencies, for use in magazines, business coaching websites and so on. So I had to do a shot or two of my own. With thanks for my daughter who is the model.
Double Delight
Both visually and the scent, this rose is indeed a double delight. The rose bush is a prolific flowerer, if there is such a word 🙂 Taken with my 70-300mm lens, I love the depth of field (DOF) this lens provides when taking photos.
Pink Rose at sunrise
Same rose a couple of days later as the sun was rising. We had a reprieve from all the rain!
Pink Rose after the rain
It was too wet to go out on this particular day but I did manage to get a shot of a rose close to the house.
The colour purple
Flowering gum with a touch of purple in its midst from another bush. Just caught my eye…
David Austin Rose 'Tea Clipper'
This is one of the many roses in our garden. It almost looks like a Dahlia when you aren’t close to it. But when you are very close to it, it has the most beautiful aroma.
Lilium in the garden
I believe this is a ‘Lilium Superbum’. (Turks-Cap Lily) Saw this in the garden of my church – very unusual flower.
In the sunset
I’m participating in the 365 day project again, as mentioned previously, and sometimes it’s late in the day before I find anything to hold up my camera to. On this particular day I’d been wandering around in my neighbour’s garden again. She has a larger property than us (5 acres) and the front part is…
Beautiful hibiscus
This flower is in my garden – lovely time of year for colour and things to see.
