I spent a lovely Melbourne Autumn afternoon at the Melbourne zoo recently, and in particular the Butterfly House. I hope the selection I’ve chosen for you to see.

Australian War Memorial – Albatros D.Va
Another plane from WWI – thanks to Liz from the AWM – this plane is an Albatros D.Va
Australian War Memorial – SE5a Scout/fighter aircraft
Haven’t worked out what this one is yet – perhaps you can help? My thanks to Cameron Dickson for giving me the name in the comment below.
Australian War Museum: Kitty Hawk Fighter Plane
This is Graham, my wonderful husband, standing in front of the Kitty Hawk Fighter Plane. He had a great time checking them all out!
Australian War Museum: Hawker Sea Fury
I was amazed at how this one had wings that folded – I’m told it was so they could be maneuvered onto the carrier ships. Sorry if my lack of knowledge is showing!
Australian War Memorial: Avro 504 Trainer aircraft
It was really interesting walking around this museum and seeing a part of history. So many different types of planes.
Australian War Memorial: Avro Lancaster
Graham and I visited our daughter in Canberra on the long weekend in March and whilst there, we visited the Australian War Memorial. The pics for the next few days are from the Memorial. If you are into war history or planes, I’m sure you’ll enjoy these! I’ve been trying to locate the names for…
Rainbow Lorikeets in my yard

The Horse Whisper
Whispering sweet nothings or saying something else? They were stopped at traffic lights in the city recently.
Talking Horses
I saw these in the city waiting to get going. They looked like they were having a conversation with each other.
Canberra Botanical Gardens
On Saturday 7th March we visited the Botanical Gardens and had lunch there. It was a really beautiful day, quite perfect in fact, and Graham and Meredith wandered off into the distance catching up while I dawdled behind snapping to my heart’s delight. Hope you like this selection!
