We had an unexpected visitor this week. An Echidna. Well, we had been told it lived on our property but after 12 months of watching for it and never seeing it, I’d given it up as a myth. So imagine my surprise when I went outside to find out what all the leaf rustling was…

Australian King Parrot
Spied in my neighbour’s garden, this bird watched me as I watched him.
Mighty Oaks from Little Acorns Grow…
We have a lot of these in our garden and had to pull them up. Sad to do but think 3 mighty oak trees are enough for one garden. If nature had its way there would be over twenty – and that’s in just one season!
The busy bee
Now that Spring has really arrived so have the bees seeking out the pollen. They are so busy. This is at a Liquidamber tree and the bee is carrying quite a bit of pollen.
Pretty Azalea
We have quite a few different Azaleas in our garden too. This one is so pretty.
Sparaxis
We’ve got quite a few of these coming up all over our lawn and under the Oak Tree. Different colours.
Star shaped Daffodil
I was sitting outside and looking around when it hit me that Daffodils are star shaped – when you’re looking at them straight on. I hadn’t realised that before, had you?
Daffodil
I had no idea there were so many different types and colours of Daffodils. I planted some not knowing others were already lying dormant in our gardens. So we have a variety in our own garden.
Reaching for the sun
These have been flowering through winter too but in the Spring sun they seem to have become taller.
Blue flower
This is very tiny, I don’t know what it is but it’s in our garden and very pretty don’t you think?
Lily of the Valley
I planted a lot of bulbs a couple of months ago and now I’m starting to see the evidence of this.
Spring is in the air, on the ground…
Now Spring is here the flowers are coming out, new leaves forming on the empty trees and colour is spreading as far as the eye can see.
