Although I spend a lot of mornings at Lysterfield Park and occasional afternoons, I’d never done a sunset walk there before last week. My husband Graham was feeling ready for a walk and I was keen to see a sunset at the park so we went together. Regular readers will know that Graham is recovering…
More clouds
There’s a steep path up a hill that eventually leads you along the back fences of homes near the park and this was the view over one of the back fences with the palm trees in the foreground. And I love this view by the 24 hour car park, looking away from the park, overlooking…
Clouds
The clouds were amazing a few days ago. I’d had to get up early for a business meeting over breakfast so couldn’t stop to take photos of the sunrise. But as the day progresses the clouds remained very interesting so when a girlfriend mentioned she was going for a walk that afternoon I took the…

Little lost duckling
Walking at the park the other day with a girlfriend we saw a group of three park rangers together near the entry gate. We soon discovered that one was carrying a tiny little duckling who had become separated from its family and they were off in search of a duck family for it. So cute.
Walking on water
This shot amuses me. A small group of ducks took off across the water as I came near to them on the beach. I caught this one as it ran across the top of the water to what it considered to be a safer place to be.
Eastern grey kangaroo
I love how the roos just sit and watch you when visiting the lake early mornings. Later in the day they move into the bushland and lay low as the park gets lots of visitors, but early morning they’re grazing and just watch you pass them by.
The colours of Christmas
I only just realised a couple of weeks ago that the colours of the Bottle Brush are Christmas colours. At least of the red bottle brush, I’ve seen a pink one and another that’s close to purple. Shot this one just after the rain a few days ago.
Driving up Monbulk Road on a Misty day
When I went to visit our daughter a few days ago it was one of those misty low lying cloud type of days. This is what I saw on the road. Rather beautiful don’t you think?
Travelling the Puffing Billy
As I mentioned recently, my husband and I had guests from interstate and we spent a day with them on the Puffing Billy train. The train leaves from Belgrave and travels to Emerald Lake Park and then moves on to Gembrook. We chose to go as far as Emerald Lake Park, have lunch and wander…
The beautiful gardens at Cloudehill
If you live in Melbourne (Australia) or perhaps pay a visit sometime, it’s worth coming up to the Dandenong Ranges to explore. There is so much to see. We recently had three friends staying with us and over the 4 days I took them to Grant’s Picnic Grounds, Emerald Lake Park, Cloudehill, Alfred Nicholas Gardens…
Spring flowers
The beauty of spring is well and truly with us now here in Victoria, Australia. These were taken at Cloudehill recently – a favourite place to visit. You can find out more about Cloudehill Nursery and grounds here. It makes me feel that I should be out in my own garden. They’re not forecasting too…
