Smokey perched on the fence rail at the back of our home.
Maa, our sheep
The shearer has been and Maa is now without her woolly coat, although we felt sorry for her as Summer has been slow to arrive this year and it’s still quite cool and wet. She’s been suffering from arthritis though so I guess the extra weight taken off is a blessing for her.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas…
This is our home and I’ve begun decorating it for Christmas on the outside.
Don't forget the competition!
Did you read the post at http://kathiesphotos.com/2010/12/06/photo-in-calendar/ last week? There is a competition in there and I invite you to participate! I’ve been enjoying making calendars and would love to give one to you too!
Peek-a-boo
With summer now here (well, sort of) a lot of the bird life has begun hanging around again. This cheeky Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo was peeking at me from the roof – maybe he thought I might have something for him.
Shiny bug
You see some interesting bugs in the garden when you actively go out looking at anything and everything.
Getting ready for the ride
One of the great things about where we live is the number of bike tracks locally and a great mountain biking facility less than 10 mins drive away. My husband is a keen mountain biker and here he is getting ready for a ride.

Feijoa in flower
Well, we’ve come full circle and been in our home now over 12 months. I don’t know when this happened. I didn’t notice last week that flowers were forming but here they are, fully formed on our Feijoa tree. It produces an interesting fruit but it will be a couple of months at least before…
Miniscule Red Mushrooms
We’ve had a lot of rain this year, not just through Winter but also Spring. In fact, it’s the wettest it’s been since 1992, which was our first year in Melbourne. We’d wondered what we’d done, shifting to such a wet state. We weren’t to know Melbourne was about to suffer a drought, a long-lived…
Cocoon on a tree
No matter how many times I wander around our garden I’m always discovering something new. On the weekend I noticed a large cocoon on the side of a tree.
Photo in calendar
Recently I was thrilled to learn I am a winner in a photography competition here in the Dandenong Ranges. The local community bank runs this competition and had 230 entries, 13 of which were winners (1 cover image and 12 for the months) and 9 photographers who took those 13 images. So some had more…
