On Facebook, and Instagram, it’s been so wonderful seeing the increased interest in our lovely Puffing Billy Steam Train, particularly from those who don’t live here in Melbourne, Australia. Originally a passenger train in the 1900s, these days it is a tourist attraction and runs every day of the year, excepting Christmas Day. There are over 300 volunteers who work to keep this train operating daily. Part of the attraction is being able to sit on the sills with the legs out which many teens and young adults love to do. You can find out more here.
My husband and I live just 5 mins from the famous Trestle Bridge in Selby, on which it travels and we can hear its whistle every day as it goes up to Lakeside, Emerald and back to Belgrave. On Sundays it also goes further to Gembrook. I’ve been taking photos of it ever since we shifted here in 2009. Here is just a small selection of my photos. Make sure you go read about it at their website. And I would love for you to follow me on Facebook and Instagram but don’t do that silently 🙂 Your comments and likes are welcome too. We love the Puffing Billy and hope you do too!
