Yesterday my husband and I visited the Melbourne Steamfest in Scoresby. I’d read about it in the local paper and knowing how much my husband loves steam engines, I mentioned it to him. The clincher was when a friend at church mentioned they also had old radios on display. Graham is a ham radio operator. So off we went and it was a beautiful March Autumn afternoon.
Graham wandered around all the sheds looking at all the displays whereas I stayed out by the arena and watched the parade of steam engines, tractors, a roller and others, from very tiny to very large. I got sprayed by one machine as it was pulling away from me and I had to take time out to clean my camera lens. But I did manage to get quite a few shots, and a short video of some of the parade. Over the next few days I’ll share with you images from the event.
I processed a few of the shots to suit the era from which these machines came. I thought they came out well, don’t you?
By the way, these images and more are available as prints and you can place an order through my shop or simply contact me via the form on this site.
