We spent two days on this train viewing amazing scenery. And it looks like I’m train surfing, doesn’t it? 😉

Pardon the break in the Canadian/Alaskan shots but I was out in Selby this afternoon and couldn’t resist taking a picture of this Kookaburra in a gum tree (yes, to my overseas readers, that song is about a real bird and tree).

I loved the reflections in the lake as we wandered around for our photoshoot (class) a few weeks ago. I don’t know the story behind this cross in the lake but I thought it was such a peaceful place to be.

Kathie Thomas has a Diploma in Photography (Professional Photography) and has won many local competitions and awards for her nature photography. She has twice been Commended in Australia Photography’s Nature Photographer of the Year competitions.

While this site is about the Dandenong Ranges and Nature in general, Kathie’s main passion is birds and she is an ethical birder. She takes photos of wild birds without baiting with calls, and avoids using flash photography.
