I was visiting the Coldstream Airstrip recently and got to watch a number of small planes taking off. This was one of them. I liked how the sunrays showed up to the right as well.

Mission Aviation Discovery (M.A.D.) Day II

There were joy flights on the day but the weather delayed some of the flights. Below a helicopter and a fixed wing airplane take passengers up for some fun. Where else would I get the opportunity for some close ups of flights in action? I would love the opportunity to go up in a helicopter…

Kathie Thomas has a Diploma in Photography (Professional Photography) and has won many local competitions and awards for her nature photography. She has twice been Commended in Australia Photography’s Nature Photographer of the Year competitions.

While this site is about the Dandenong Ranges and Nature in general, Kathie’s main passion is birds and she is an ethical birder. She takes photos of wild birds without baiting with calls, and avoids using flash photography.
