I have no idea what this flower is, it is daisy-like. It was growing as a wild flower in the local park. Thought it really beautiful. Do you agree? If you know what it is, please do let me know too.

My guardian cat
Whenever I’m out and about in the garden, my cat Toki, is never far away. Always keeping me in his sights. He’s a handsome cat and I thought I’d share him with you here.
The Cherry Laurel Tree
We have a magnificent tree in our backyard nestled next to the Lilly Pilly and easily as tall, if not taller. For a long time we hadn’t really realised there was a different tree there. It wasn’t until Graham and I began working in that part of the garden that we noted some differences. This…
Butterflies in the garden
I’ve been delighting in adding to our garden, plants and flowers I knew that butterflies would love. I watched an episode of Australian Gardening some months ago that spoke of developing our gardens for butterflies. I got inspired to do similar in our garden and now watch eagerly for the butterflies. I’ve even begun a…
Crescent Honeyeater
Recently I’ve discovered some ‘new’ birds in my garden at home. I don’t know if they’ve always been visiting or whether it’s a new occurence. I am a lot more aware of different birds here and was delighted to see these ‘newcomers’, the Crescent Honeyeater. They are a native to eastern Australia. Quite a cute…
Playing with Wordle
I’ve been wanting to design a tshirt to wear when I’m out on photography jobs. But just wasn’t sure what I wanted on it till I saw similar type of thing for someone else’s tshirt on a different topic. And I thought ‘what a great idea!’. So I’ve been playing with Wordle. Do you know…
Wall images
I had the wonderful privilege of having an insurance company purchase two of my photos some weeks ago, to have them imprinted into glass walls. I couldn’t really imagine how they were going to look but at the beginning of this week I was invited to go in and meet the ‘boss’ and view the…
Birds at Cranbourne Botanical Gardens
At last we get to the birds. I’m told there are 178 species at the gardens and counting but I only had a limited time and not the best light to capture images of all those I did see. So here are a few I saw during my visit there. Sacred (Australian white) ibis flying…
Flora at Cranbourne Botanical Gardens
So now the flora. There was an abundance of plants, bushes, flowers, trees, etc. Such a lovely and stunning place to visit. From bushland that was almost untouched, through to planned and formal gardens, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Butterflies at Cranbourne Botanical Gardens
While exploring these gardens I saw a beautiful butterfly I’d not seen before, so welcome any comments about what the name might be 🙂 I thought it was gorgeous and beautifully marked and coloured, don’t you? And then I saw this Painted Lady which is a fairly common species here in Australia but still lovely…
Visiting Cranbourne Botanical Gardens
There are so many beautiful places to visit on the east side of Melbourne, Australia. On the weekend I went on a photo walk with some fellow bird photographers to the Cranbourne Botanical Gardens. I’d not been there for a few years and knew it had been undergoing some changes. I plan to share with…
Melbourne Art Trams
Melbourne is currently having an Arts Festival in the city, and eight of our trams have been painted to celebrate the event. Many of Melbourne’s trams are well decorated anyway, so I decided to spend a couple of hours and managed to see four of the eight but saw lots of others that were colourful…
