Not long before we went away we had a visit by three Yellow-tailed Cockatoos. I couldn’t get any shots of them all together so had to settle for just the one. I believe this one is a female.
They make quite an unusual grating type of sound when in a tree eating nuts and berries. I had wondered what it was till I went outside and saw them in a tree. This one then flew to a gum tree nearby where I was able to get this clear shot. Not as common as the white cockatoos, I usually see these particular ones flying around in pairs in the evening or early morning in our area.
