This place, for me, is a must every year – and I go more than once, if possible. 2020 made that a bit difficult but this year I’ll make up for it and have gotten a season pass so I can go a few more times. The Blue Lotus Water Garden is on Warburton Highway, Yarra Junction.
I took my new Nikon P950 to see how it would go. While I haven’t, as yet, mastered decent close up BIF (Bird in Flight) shots or much in the way of action shots, I have definitely got the still shots nailed. My favourite setting, so far, is the Bird setting. I have used some of the others but I keep coming back to this one, even if it isn’t shooting in RAW. And when you see my shots below, you’ll see why I’m happy with that setting.
The two images of the Reed Warbler below were taken from the same spot – the second was just fully zoomed in. Love the detail of the bird in the shot! For those seeking to get an all in one camera, a bridge camera, a superzoom camera, then this one is definitely worth considering. I’ve started a new album at my Flickr account with photos just from this camera to give you a glimpse of what else I’ve been taking. Your comments here, or there, would be welcomed.
