Spring is here in Australia and that means Spring Festivals around the country. I know there have been some in Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane. Well, Melbourne has them too.
At Silvan, which is about an hour’s drive from Melbourne, just past Monbulk, the annual Tesselaar’s Tulip Festival runs from mid September to mid October. I love going, just to take photos but nearly always come home with a number of plants and bulbs to put in the ground. This year was no exception.
When you enter the grounds the first thing you see are the rows upon rows of tulips in different colours, some single petaled, single coloured, some multi-coloured, some double petalled. Beautiful to look at. And yes, some people dress up for it. We have Dutch music, Irish music and other types of music playing, special days for kids, for the pensioners and for others. Food and other displays too.
So pretty!
