I was recently privileged to participate in a photo tour of one of the bushfire regions in Victoria. 8 weeks have now passed since that awful day in February when many people perished and thousands lost their homes. The places I visited did not have any loss of life but there was loss of property….

Kathie Thomas has a Diploma in Photography (Professional Photography) and has won many local competitions and awards for her nature photography. She has twice been Commended in Australia Photography’s Nature Photographer of the Year competitions.

While this site is about the Dandenong Ranges and Nature in general, Kathie’s main passion is birds and she is an ethical birder. She takes photos of wild birds without baiting with calls, and avoids using flash photography.
