I had the most wonderful time at the Butterfly House and stayed there as people came in and went back out again. I didn’t really take much notice of the time – I just kept seeing more photos I wanted to take!

There were so many willing subjects at the zoo – hope you like them all!

Kathie Thomas has a Diploma in Photography (Professional Photography) and has won many local competitions and awards for her nature photography. She has twice been Commended in Australia Photography’s Nature Photographer of the Year competitions.

While this site is about the Dandenong Ranges and Nature in general, Kathie’s main passion is birds and she is an ethical birder. She takes photos of wild birds without baiting with calls, and avoids using flash photography.
