Grant’s picnic ground is in Kallista, and is part of Sherbrooke Forest. To get to it you need to drive through Belgrave up Monbulk Road, or through Monbulk and down Monbulk Road. This Crimson Rosella was interested in what I might have for awhile but then decided the wooden post he was sitting on held more interest. One thing I need to do is find out how not to have the reds blowout so much. I’d like it to look much sharper.

I went for a visit to Grant’s Picnic Grounds in Kallista recently. I pop in there now and then in the hope of seeing a Lyrebird but haven’t been successful in that regard yet. However, the paths to walk are beautiful, there is lots of birdlife and other things to see. My photos this week…
Sulphur Crested Cockatoo
We were visiting Grant’s Picnic Ground in Kallista and the bird life there is plentiful. This cockatoo was a real poser and showed me his left and right profiles and looked me full on – till he was tempted with food by a visiting tourist.
