These ducks were not that shy and happily came to see if the photographers had anything to give them but once they were satisfied we have nothing to offer they would take back off into the water.

Three ducks in a row. I visited Basterfield Park in Victoria one fine Sunday morning and these images and those for the next few days are from that park.

Kathie Thomas has a Diploma in Photography (Professional Photography) and has won many local competitions and awards for her nature photography. She has twice been Commended in Australia Photography’s Nature Photographer of the Year competitions.

While this site is about the Dandenong Ranges and Nature in general, Kathie’s main passion is birds and she is an ethical birder. She takes photos of wild birds without baiting with calls, and avoids using flash photography.
