Contentment is what I think of when I see the top photo. That duck didn’t move once although there were several of us milling around. The other was just checking us out before returning to the water.

Kathie Thomas has a Diploma in Photography (Professional Photography) and has won many local competitions and awards for her nature photography. She has twice been Commended in Australia Photography’s Nature Photographer of the Year competitions.

While this site is about the Dandenong Ranges and Nature in general, Kathie’s main passion is birds and she is an ethical birder. She takes photos of wild birds without baiting with calls, and avoids using flash photography.
