Patience is not one of my best virtues but having taken up photography means I’ve had to start learning to be patient too. That means sitting still in one place and just wait for the right moment if I know that what I’m seeking is nearby.
There is a bird hide at Lysterfield Lake Park and I sometimes go sit in there but don’t last very long. It’s quiet, and if the birdlife isn’t busy there’s nice scenery to see but what else is there to do? I’m someone who likes to keep busy and active so sitting still just waiting doesn’t always bode well with me.
What do you do when you’re just waiting and especially if on your own? Sing in your head, think about things, something else? Take a book to read? I’m looking for suggestions on what I could do to make my waiting time more interesting I guess. I know the wait will be worth it if I get the shots I want.
What about getting an ipod touch Kathie? Apart from listening to music you can download pod casts, audio books and there are some great photography apps too!! There is even a drop box app, perhaps something to add to your Christmas list!!
I highly enjoyed reading your blogpost, keep on posting such exciting stuff!
