I went on another photowalk this week with some from KPS. We went to the Neville Arboretum in Ferntree Gully. A pretty park with a lake, lawns, cement boardwalk (the wooden one got burnt) and an amphitheatre. I’d never been there before so had fun exploring. And the weather was a perfect day – even…
More on the Puffing Billy
Just can’t resist pulling out my camera if I know the Puffing Billy is near by! Yes, I was a bit close for this one! I could feel the heat from the smoke as it passed me by – but don’t worry, I was standing aside and not on the track. And when it left…
Caught in flight
It’s not very sharp but I caught this by chance. A New Holland Honeyeater flying up to a flower in the Grevillea at the back of our home. Pity I wasn’t much closer but then you can’t have everything! I count myself lucky I got the bird in flight (BIF)!
More of the Eastern Spinebill
I spied it on the Banksia the other day. It was so interested in the Banksia that it didn’t notice me till I got too close – gradually getting closer to this bird.
New Holland Honeyeater
I’m finding as the seasons change, so does some of the birdlife in our garden. The New Holland Honeyeater has made an appearance over the past few weeks and I’m getting closer for better shots. Here it is in a Grevillea in our front garden and a Salvia in the side garden.
The bird catches the worm
Seen in our grounds on the weekend, this Kookaburra eyes a worm from a tree, flies down and grabs it, then swallows it down.
At Lysterfield Lake Park
I dropped into Lysterfield Lake Park one day during the week as I had to pass by doing a pick up. So I thought why not do my daily walk there, I’m sure to see something interesting! I nearly despaired of not seeing a bird or a wallaby or kanagaroo after a half hour of…
Submitting to Stock Photo Sites V
An update on the progress of my stock photo submissions. I have a total of 93 photos submitted across 7 different sites now. My submissions have slowed down – I need to go through more photos and view them at 100% to make sure they are suitable for submission. I’ve bided my ‘wait’ time for…
Puffing Billy, Selby
And then I hopped into my car quickly to try and get past all the buses and tourists also at the bridge to get to the crossing near my home in Selby. I knew the tourists weren’t heading there but I had to be on the road before they were just to get there in…
Puffing Billy, Belgrave
Yesterday I deliberately went to collect my mail later so I could co-incide my trip home with the passing of the Puffing Billy. These are some shots of the steam train as it travels on the trestle bridge in Belgrave, Victoria. As it was approaching the bridge And on the bridge
Vic MTB Enduro in Albury
On the weekend my husband was participating in an MTB race at Albury. It was a 6 hour enduro and he was in a duo and there were two more friends in another duo. Their team name is Team Sally. They’re in pink tops. If you want to see all the pics then click here….
Daily walk
I went out on a walk yesterday but it was bitterly cold and windy and I should have had my beanie and gloves. I did have a warm coat and stuffed my hands in my pockets. Camera was in hand but I didn’t see a lot that was to my liking at that time. But…
