Tiny Orange Mushroom

Almost every day I go outside and am amazed at what else I find. We have lots of different types of mushrooms in our garden.

Knitted fungi

This one looks like it is knitted.

We have white ones, grey ones, yellow ones, red ones, orange, brown, black – you name it, we have all sorts! I’ve also learnt that mushrooms and toadstools are the same thing – people just call poisonous mushrooms toadstools. I’ve been doing some reading to try and identify them.

Kathie Thomas has a Diploma in Photography (Professional Photography) and has won many local competitions and awards for her nature photography. She has twice been Commended in Australia Photography’s Nature Photographer of the Year competitions.

While this site is about the Dandenong Ranges and Nature in general, Kathie’s main passion is birds and she is an ethical birder. She takes photos of wild birds without baiting with calls, and avoids using flash photography.
