Now winter is here we’re seeing a different variety of flowers in the garden. There are bulbs springing up everywhere and some of the Australian natives are flowering. Below is a Jonquil and a Protea.

Eastern Spinebill in our garden
For months I’ve been trying to get closer to these birds to get a clearer shot. This time round I was under the camelia bush (which is like a tree as it’s huge and old) and realised there was an Eastern Spinebill in the bush next to it.

Daily Walk
One day last week I trod a different path to the one I usually tread. This one is around the corner from my home and goes down into a valley and then back up a hill again. Good exercise for someone who doesn’t walk a lot of hills!
