A regular visitor to our garden it particularly loves the nectar from the Grevillea flower. I was fortunate not to be noticed in the shadow of a nearby tree, sufficiently, to get reasonable shots of this normally flighty bird.
How to build a pond
Ever thought about building a pond for your garden? We’ve done it several times – every home I’ve owned, has had a pond. And each one is better than the last one. We recently built one for the home we own in Selby, Victoria. This is by far the best pond we’ve ever had. Not…
Misty morning
I love how fresh everything is on a morning when the sun is rising and there is mist and sunrays. Two of the photographers I walked with.

Early morning visit to Birdsland Reserve
A view of the moon from the reserve. Webs in the light from the rising sun.
Pied Cormorant
The Pied Cormorant is a common visitor to water areas in Australia. Sometimes known as a Shag too. Watching me from its perch on high. Leaving its perch to fly to the lake.
Early morning walk with the ducks
Visited Birdsland Reserve yesterday with some fellow photographers and love being there early morning, as the sun is rising and everything is fresh and new.
Brighton Beach Boxes

Brighton Beach Boxes

Taking a photo a day
Hi, have you missed me? I have been around, mostly at Facebook, and life before Christmas was incredibly crazy. But I don’t stop taking photos almost every day of my life. A great way of improving my skills, getting to know my camera well and seeing things in a way that I might not have,…
Big old boys
I went with a group on a photowalk at Lysterfield last Saturday and we came across, a couple of times, two big old boy eastern grey kangaroos. One member obviously hadn’t been that close to a kangaroo before and was concerned for their safety. I explained that as long as the kangaroo didn’t feel cornered…
