Busy watching me, this wren didn’t take off as quickly as most.
Eastern spinebill close up
I was pleasantly surprised when walking through some bushes I chanced upon a spinebill quite close up. Pity the leaf was in the way but I still caught its eye before it flew off.
Table for two
I was participating in a workshop being held at a winery in the middle of last week. It was a lovely day, blue sky and beautiful surroundings. I couldn’t help taking my camera out to record my visit there. The winery is in Coldstream. Overlooking the vineyard and the lake Looking towards the mountains

Same rose a couple of days later as the sun was rising. We had a reprieve from all the rain!
Birdsland under water
On Friday 4th and Saturday 5th February we had a lot of rain in our area. 150mm which meant a lot of things were under water, literally. This is a lake very close to home that had water right up to the paths. Graham and I walked in our regular shoes but really needed boots…
