Now I have my zoom lens back I’ve been focussing on some of the smaller living things in our garden. This week it’s bees mainly – some I took through our bedroom window and others outside. I do have a macro lens but not gain to get too close to these creatures.

This one is a bit closer – I moved a couple of steps, took a shot, moved a couple more steps, took another shot, till I got close as I dared using a regular lens. Thankfully he didn’t fly off – think he’s getting used to seeing me in the garden with a camera hanging…

Taken in my backyard early morning – I took some distance shots and then gradually moved closer to get better shots of him – all with my 18-55 mm lens as I don’t have the zoom at the moment. He seemed happy to just sit and watch for worms and then occasionally check on me…
Missing an arm
My zoom lens is in for repair at the moment. The manual ring is jammed although the autofocus works fine. My husband thinks it may be the gearing mechanism and the spring might have got caught. Whatever the problem I’m missing it as it is my favourite lens and the one I use the most….
