My husband, a friend and I had the most amazing thrill of a lifetime today. We got to watch a male lyrebird, out in the open, dance, sing and display as there was a female lyrebird nearby.
Often they can be heard in the bush and shadows but it’s not often you see one out in the open, as we did. We’d gone to the Dandenong Ranges Botanical Gardens (formerly Rhododendron Gardens) to view what Autumn colour had arrived, and definitely saw that. But this had to be our highlight as it really isn’t something you would see very often. We felt so grateful and blessed and all three of us took photos and video. The guys got longer videos but here’s my shorter one – I didn’t want to miss getting photos too, as you can also see.
