Baluk Willam Reserve

And there were quite a few wildflowers at the reserve too. This one is really pretty. I have no idea what the name of it might be.

On Sunday at church one of the men mentioned he was looking for an iconic photo of the Belgrave South region so I took it upon myself to do some research on the area and in the process discovered the Baluk Willam Nature Conservation Reserve. I hadn’t known it existed and it’s just 5 mins…

Fern in the sunlight

I love the early morning and seeing the sun rise and touch things with its light. This fern was bathed in sunlight although the tree behind it was still in shadows.

Kathie Thomas has a Diploma in Photography (Professional Photography) and has won many local competitions and awards for her nature photography. She has twice been Commended in Australia Photography’s Nature Photographer of the Year competitions.

While this site is about the Dandenong Ranges and Nature in general, Kathie’s main passion is birds and she is an ethical birder. She takes photos of wild birds without baiting with calls, and avoids using flash photography.
