While it is winter here we’ve had some amazing sunny cool crisp days. Makes for nice photos. This is a Salvia in full bloom.

Kookaburra in the autumn

This shot I took a couple of weeks ago. I’d never taken a shot with a kookaburra with autumn leaves in the shot before and it appealed to me.

Seems that nature is matching its surroundings at the moment. When we drive down the hill towards our home all you can see is yellow, green and gold, and some brown. The leaves on the ground matching the picket fence of our front yard. It really stands out from the rest of the street which…

While this site is about the Dandenong Ranges and Nature in general, Kathie’s main passion is birds and she is an ethical birder. She takes photos of wild birds without baiting with calls, and avoids using flash photography.
