Over the past couple of months I’ve been visiting both Birdsland Reserve (before the recent bushfires) and Lysterfield Park, Victoria, Australia. The next few posts are of Kookaburra I saw in these parks.

Birdlife at Canberra

We visited the Botanical Gardens and the War Memorial in Canberra and the pictures below were taken at both these places. I love the variety of birdlife on show!

Kathie Thomas has a Diploma in Photography (Professional Photography) and has won many local competitions and awards for her nature photography. She has twice been Commended in Australia Photography’s Nature Photographer of the Year competitions.

While this site is about the Dandenong Ranges and Nature in general, Kathie’s main passion is birds and she is an ethical birder. She takes photos of wild birds without baiting with calls, and avoids using flash photography.
