Kangaroo buck and family

There were mainly Eastern Greys in the area but I did see this Red buck with his family. Each family had 3-4 roos in it – at least from what I could see and they were in different parts of the park.

I love wandering around Lysterfield Lake Park early in the day. It’s fresh, there is still dampness in the air and on the ground, everything is looking so green at the moment and the animals haven’t disappeared into the bush as yet.

Kathie Thomas has a Diploma in Photography (Professional Photography) and has won many local competitions and awards for her nature photography. She has twice been Commended in Australia Photography’s Nature Photographer of the Year competitions.

While this site is about the Dandenong Ranges and Nature in general, Kathie’s main passion is birds and she is an ethical birder. She takes photos of wild birds without baiting with calls, and avoids using flash photography.
