I’ve taken on a new challenge, spurred on by another bird photographer, to see how many different species of birds I can photograph this year.
I’ve created a page for it and will probably have to do a page a month as they will get long in themselves – assuming I get photos of different species on a daily basis. This will get harder as the year moves on – unless I’m always going to different places! However, changing seasons also bring different birds to where I live and at the surrounding parks and lakes. We’re on day 5 of the year as at the publication of this post, and I’ve photographed 31 different species to date. I have actually recorded 49 different species on eBird as you can enter birds you hear and/or see – not necessarily photograph, so this will be different. And, as my husband and I go off on camping trips now and then, or as I go off on outings off the hill, the birds will also be from different regions, not just the Dandenong Ranges.
You can see the page I’ve set up at Birds of 2024 but you can’t comment there, so any comments need to be made at this post. I also have them listed in an Album at Flickr.
Please do come back and visit regularly so you can see what I’ve been able to photograph! I would so appreciate your thoughts.
