There are so many beautiful places to visit on the east side of Melbourne, Australia. On the weekend I went on a photo walk with some fellow bird photographers to the Cranbourne Botanical Gardens. I’d not been there for a few years and knew it had been undergoing some changes. I plan to share with you, over the next few days, some of the sites I saw.
While we initially went for birds there were many other things we also saw. We first visited the Stringybark Picnic Area which has many tracks and a wetlands. The bushland there is pretty much untouched, apart from walking tracks, and truly beautiful and natural. Below is a Swamp Wallaby, fairly well camouflaged in the bush, an Echidna enjoying a forage on the ground, and a Southern Brown Bandicoot I later saw in the formal gardens.
