We’ve had only a very small number of mushrooms in the garden so far. I’m hoping we get a lot more as we have had in previous Autumns. This one was a large white one that started to keel over. I liked the colouring underneath and then noticed a bug on the stem once I examined the photo on my computer.
Love this photo Kathie.
This is a great season to go mushroom picking in the Mornington Peninsula, Red Hill to be more precise. One has to know which ones to pluck of course. Upon frying them in a little bit of golden olive oil they taste like meat, delicious with a glass of Calvados. These mushrooms are also amazing when cut finely in omelettes.
