Thanks Karlyn. We have 3 (that we know of) of these birds living on our property so there is always great opportunity for taking photos of them. And time for me to consider the background now since it’s not a flying visit somewhere for me.

Kathie Thomas has a Diploma in Photography (Professional Photography) and has won many local competitions and awards for her nature photography. She has twice been Commended in Australia Photography’s Nature Photographer of the Year competitions.

While this site is about the Dandenong Ranges and Nature in general, Kathie’s main passion is birds and she is an ethical birder. She takes photos of wild birds without baiting with calls, and avoids using flash photography.
