Aussie Birds Video Clip

Thought I’d share with you a clip that shows at my favourite bird forum. It shows some Australian birds, some well known, some not so. I know most of them and they show in this order:

Tawny Frogmouth chick, White Cockatoo, Willie Wagtail, Rainbow Lorikeet, Australian Laughing Kookaburra, Duck, Bush Turkey, unknown small bird, Black Raven, Red Browed Firetail.

Little lost duckling

Walking at the park the other day with a girlfriend we saw a group of three park rangers together near the entry gate.  We soon discovered that one was carrying a tiny little duckling who had become separated from its family and they were off in search of a duck family for it.  So cute.

Walking on water

This shot amuses me.  A small group of ducks took off across the water as I came near to them on the beach. I caught this one as it ran across the top of the water to what it considered to be a safer place to be.

Duck in a tree

Here’s something you don’t see every day. A duck in a tree.  It looked very clumsy flying up there and eventually settling.  It would seem they actually settle in the trees at night time.  This was taken at Lysterfield Lake Park.

Give it a shake

And of course they like to shake their wings and tails while in the water too.
