The Butterfly House

Posted on September 27, 2012September 23, 2012

One of my favourite places to visit is The Butterfly House. It is a hot house to visit and I was conscious that I shouldn’t change my lenses when inside the house. So I did a full circuit with my short lens (18-55mm) and then went out, changed lenses and went back in with the longer lens (70-300mm). The longer lens did fog up when I first went in but I had a cleaning cloth with me so cleaned it off and then went on the circuit again. One of the things I love about this Butterfly House is how they’ve made it as natural as possible under a roof. Plants, bushes and trees, with running water in a creek. Plus they have feeders out with fruit and nectar. I could not name these butterflies for you (a friend I know could I’m sure) and perhaps I should have noted down their names, but not to worry. Hope you enjoy them!
