I could see it was going to be a beautiful crisp, very fresh morning a couple of days ago so planned to drive up to Kallista, 10 mins away from home, so I could watch the sunset. The grass in the paddocks had that silvery sheen to it, almost frost, but not quite. I was…

Canoeing on the Yarra River
Canoeing is a popular sport with local schools and you will often see people first thing in the morning on the river. I thought the second shot rather amusing. You could say they lost their heads…
Misty mornings
I love those misty mornings with a promise of a beautiful Autumn day. I’d heard someone had seen a number of photographers lined up along Lysterfield Road to capture the sunrise so thought that since I had to drop my husband off early to the train station in Belgrave, and I had a business meeting…
Bathed in gold
The building at the dam wall wasn’t the only thing bathed in gold. Below are two photographers as they come up the walk to meet the rest of us and one of the photographers lining up a shot.
As the sun rises
The building on the dam wall provides a great opportunity for watching the sun rise and seeing it bathed in gold once the sun has reached over the tree tops in the background.
Mist upon the lake
Looking back over the lake I could see the mist rising. As the sun got closer to peaking above the tree tops the mist would begin to move and go over the wall.
Lysterfield Lake Photowalk
The next few days I’ll be posting images from the photowalk I did on Tuesday. I was quite happy with what we saw and what I was able to capture and am looking forward to seeing the photos of the others that were there also. When I arrived I made for the dam wall, where…
Golden morning sunrise
Now I’m back on my two feet, I’ve begun visiting one of my favourite parks again – Lysterfield Lake Park. I’ve been walking across the dam wall and partly along the beach too. I’ll stay off the tracks for a little while longer – at least the ones where I need to climb hills and…
Sunrise in my area
Thought I’d share with you some sunrise shots I’ve taken in Selby and Kallista over the past couple of years. It really is a beautiful time of day that most people miss as they’re in bed – or not looking outside. I can’t wait to be out and witnessing sunrises again.
An Australian scene
I found another road to travel for sunrise shots. These two I feel depict a typical Australian country style scene. The time was before 7.30am and the sun had just risen above the hill in the distance to cast strong shadows.
Dawn at the lake
I was enjoying an early morning walk at Lysterfield Lake recently as the sun rose over the hills beyond the lake.
A new friend
Made friends with this goat as I walked that beautiful morning. He/she was chatting away to me.
