Close up of a Crimson Rosella

Posted on September 10, 2012

The birds are getting used to seeing me at my dining room window watching them. The feeder is only a few feet away and I love to watch them as they’re feeding and walking over the limbs of the large liquidamber tree. Just yesterday, when working in the garden a couple of Rosellas sat in a tree above me, calling to me. I suspect they were asking me to fill the feeder again 🙂

I have noticed their calls too – ours do an imperious summoning call when they think we are home (so cheeky!) and then there’s another rather excited encouraging call when they see one of us approaching with the seed-jar !
