What amazed me was the number of cyclists in the city at that time of the morning. My husband tells me he read that it’s over 7,000 that ride into the city daily. I know I saw hundreds just in the short time I was wondering around. I liked this colourful alley as I walked…

The beautiful dahlia
As Autumn is drawing to a close and winter is nearly upon us, the garden is starting to look bare with leaves scattered all over the ground and the trees looking bare. This dahlia was in full bloom recently though and looking very beautiful.
Colours of Autumn
Almost as soon as we walked into the gardens the signs of Autumn were evident with various bushes and trees displaying their colours magnificently. I don’t know the names of all the plants and trees but will try to mention what I do know or found out. I know these are both maples of some…
Sunset at home
We don’t get to see much of the sunsets at home because of all the bushland at the back of our property. When the sun sets southward we just can’t see it at all but on Sunday night Graham came and knocked on the office window and told me I should get outside quickly to…
Sunlit maple leaves
These past few days have been absolutely gorgeous here in Victoria, Australia. I really do love Melbourne’s Autumns – it’s the best time of the year. Warm days, cool nights, beautiful colours, fog and mist, great sunrises and sunsets. Our two maple trees have begun changing colour and this is the upright with the leaves…
Aging Mushroom
We’ve had only a very small number of mushrooms in the garden so far. I’m hoping we get a lot more as we have had in previous Autumns. This one was a large white one that started to keel over. I liked the colouring underneath and then noticed a bug on the stem once I…
Why is this fig so important?
I hope you all had a great Easter break. I even took a break from my blog here – family things happening, attending church services and also breaking in a new computer. I’m still transferring stuff from the old one but am at about 85% capacity now. Today’s photo was taken a couple of days…
Autumn amongst the green
Saw this Liquidamber leaf on the lawn the other day. It certainly showed up amongst the green on the ground. I love this time of year – fresh with rain, colourful with the Autumn leaves, still warm in the days, cooler at night.
Signs of Autumn
I’m loving seeing the signs of Autumn on its way. Our Liquidamber trees have leaves with changing colours and I’ve noticed many other different trees in our area with leaves turning mainly yellow, but some with orange as well. Of course, if you weren’t looking for it, you wouldn’t notice as most of the leaves…
The Colours of Autumn
Autumn is truly a beautiful time of the year. At least I think so. Been visiting a few parks and gardens lately.
Another driveway
This one I pass whenever driving up to my daughter’s so had to stop to take some photos.
