Tiny moth for a tiny flower

Have you seen those tiny little white daisies that spring up in the lawn and garden at this time of year (Spring)?  I love the challenge of photographing them.  On this particular day I was given extra value with an equally tiny moth upon the flower.

With spring comes the bugs

We’ve had a lot of flies turning up lately and suspect eggs have hatched somewhere in or close to the house. Very annoying.  Outside there’s been an array of colourful bugs arrive in the garden.  The top one below is a Hover Fly but I’m yet to find out what the sparkly green bug is.

Hover Fly and Daisy

Our daisies are now in full flower, and along with the Spring flowers and rains, the insects have come out to work as well.  I find the Hoverfly most fascinating to watch and they have a very shiny body.  This one didn’t seem to mind my getting reasonably close, although I really should have had my macro lens on instead but still got fairly close.

Bee and Apple Blossom

We have blossom on our fruit trees now. The plum trees, apple trees and down the road are the cherry blossom blooming. The bees are more evident now and busy all day long.

Bee upon a daisy

Taken on a cold blustery day, the bees didn’t seem to let the weather stop them from their activities. This bee is on a tiny daisy on our lawn – even through the lawns had been mowed only a couple of days before, there were quite a few daisies out on display.

I love the winter sun and how vibrant colours are. Can you see the pollen collected on the bee’s leg?
